All my machine washable items should be washed in a lingerie bag!
Felted items: after washing adjust the shape and let dry. I recommend stuffing felted bags with plastic grocery bags to hold their shape. Then hang to air dry.
Natural and other fibers: fiber is like your skin and needs to be nourished. Wash in Woolite or similar mild detergent and add conditioner.
Jewelry: remember that your jewelry, especially those pieces made with glass, should always be treated with care. Remove jewelry before showering or bathing.
